The Official Winner in the Lynne's Health Garden Biggest Raisins on the Planet Contest (which doesn't really exist except in my ridiculous imagination) is Sunview brand. Congratulations Sunview, you have won a lifetime customer!
Seriously though, I love raisins. They're little gems of powerful nutrition; portable, and just sweet enough to get you over a sugar craving rather quickly without spiking blood sugars...Go Raisins! The little darlings are one of the best sources of boron, which is essential for bone health, high in iron, potassium, B-complex vitamins, and minerals.
I use raisins in many of my healthy sweets, snacks, trail mixes, baked goods, as well as on a peanut-butter sandwich with celery - found that idea in a fitness magazine years ago in an article about post workout meals - good eats and yes, after intense workouts, it's a winner.
I even like to just eat a handful on their own. So I was super excited to peel open a container of newly purchased raisins from a brand I hadn't tried yet, Sunview (healthfoodis maximus joyus -yes, it's a thing.) I've tried several organic brands and all have been tasty, most recently Cadia brand, but when I opened the new container my jaw dropped at the size of the raisins - they're ginormous! . The package says Jumbo, but these are five times bigger than the others.
But not only that, they almost have a cherry-like flavor, very plump and moist. Cherraisins! Plus, Sunview is no more expensive than the other organic brands $4.99 for 15oz.
So if you enjoy raisins, give Sunview a try.
